In Your Child’s Backpack

To help your child be prepared for the day, please pack the following in your child’s backpack:

  • Backpack for your child should be appropriately sized and preferably water-resistant

  • A reusable water bottle with a lid that does not leak

  • A healthy snack and lunch for your child

  • Cotton bandana for sitting and games

    ALL of your child’s items MUST BE LABELED with their first and last name

Other items to included (if applicable):

  • Authorized life-saving medication. (Carried by a teacher with permission) 

  • Rain Gear

    • Rain boots,

    • Gaiters/rain pants with hooded raincoat, OR

    • Rain suit (Ex. Tuffo Muddy buddy)

    • Rain mittens. (Ex. Polarn O’Pyret or Remia Kura) 

  • Cold Weather Great

    • Wool hat,

    • Fleece-lined hat,

    • Balaclava, OR

    • Neck warmer

    • Warm base layer

    • Wool or fleece under layer

    • Heavy waterproof coat

    • Fleece lined waterproof mittens

  • Personal Care Items

    • Lip balm

    • Sunscreen

    • Insect repellant


Inside your child’s backpack you will find an emergency card laminated by me. This card NOT to be taken out of your child’s backpack. It will have emergency contact information and all health related concerns.
